Custom Pools
Construction
Equipment

Geremia Pools, Inc. takes great pride in our in-house Geremia-trained crews. We perform the majority of the phases of construction with our crews, allowing only a few details to be sub-contracted to specialists meeting our high standards. The Geremia workforce averages over one hundred employees, growing significantly during the high season. Our skilled workers—both full time and seasonal—are trained in-house to ensure that they meet the exacting standards of our operation. Robbie Geremia manages the Construction Division.

Building your pool

Plan approval and permit

All plans are drawn to the specifications that you and your designer have created. They go through our own in-house audit process and are submitted to your Home Owners Association, where needed. We apply for all permits deemed necessary by your local building department.

Excavation

Excavation is the first step in the construction process. Our specially trained crews take care of site preparation, pool layout, and excavation. They work with your pool designer to set the proper elevation for the pool site and the proper grade of the yard. All excess fill dirt is removed as the pool area is excavated unless needed for landscaping. The street is cleaned each day and care is taken to minimize disruption to your neighbors.

Plumbing, Steel Reinforcement, and Electrical

Geremia plumbers trench and install hydraulically balanced plumbing lines for maximum efficiency and balanced flow. All lines are kept under pressure to detect any possible leaks during construction. Our rebar crew installs heavy-duty steel (rebar) following our engineered steel schedule specific to your soil conditions. This rebar reinforces the shell of the pool ensuring a sturdy steel skeleton structure for the pool. Our electricians install the circuitry required to run your pool equipment and lights from the equipment pad or from a hand held remote or keypad in the house. The Building Inspector is then called to review the work and approve the pool for gunite.

Gunite

A Geremia Pools gunite crew expertly installs the gunite following the American Concrete Institute specifications for placing gunite. Gunite is pneumatically applied to your pool’s walls, floor, steps and swim-outs with a special sand and cement mix that encases the structural steel bars and creates a continuous durable concrete vessel. Our gunite surpasses the ACI required structural engineering compression strength specifications. While the use of rebound in the floor of the pool is a common practice followed by some pool builders in gunite applications, Geremia Pools does not bury the rebound as this does not meet the ACI specifications.

Tile and Coping

Choose from a wide selection of tile and coping conveniently on display in our design room. Tile and coping can be the defining unique look of your pool. We have the finest masons in the region who meticulously install the tile, coping and any other decorative masonry accents you may want.

Waterfalls and Water Features

Emulate nature with a multi-tiered waterfall as part of your poolscape, place decorative boulders to act as poolside seats, or create a swim-in grotto. Our expert rock masons can do it all. A more refined look can be created by pumping water through stainless steel or copper spill-ways or over a spill-edge, thus spilling into the pool.

Pool Deck

Special attention to detail is given to the forming and pouring of the pool deck. Geremia crews strategically place expansion joints or use score joints to relieve possible stress, thus ensuring the longevity of the deck. If the deck is exposed aggregate, the entire deck is acid-washed to remove any calcium and to uniformly polish the exposed aggregate. Other finishes include architectural colored concrete, broom or salt finish, or a sandblasted finish. We excel in all of these techniques.

Cleanup, Equipment Set and Finish Electric

The arrival of the cleanup crew signifies that the pool is almost ready for plaster. They strip all of the deck forms and remove all of the debris from the yard. Factory trained plumbers install your equipment as compactly as possible while allowing access to each piece of equipment. Electricians pull in the pool lights and finish the electrical connections at the house and the equipment pad.

Interior Finish

The pool’s interior finish options are numerous both in color and texture.  Plaster, Diamond Brite, River Rock and Altima all offer beautiful pool finish options. Our pool experts will help in the selection that fits with your pool design and environment.
